Groups Investigating God (small groups)
Friendship GiGs are our small Groups Investigating God and are designed to accomplish four important aims
- To corporately worship God in a more intimate setting;
- to develop an understanding of the things in God’s Word through shared study;
- to develop extensive and lasting Christian relationships; and,
- to minister to one another through prayer and develop and utilize our spiritual giftings.
What's So Amazing About Gigs?
Small Group Home Meetings are the lifeblood of the Vineyard Movement. (Gigs are our small Groups Investigating God) I think it is a proven fact that you cannot grow a healthy body on just one meal a week and you cannot grow into a healthy Christian by just dropping into church once on weekends (when it is convenient). Small groups spread the table for you midweek. And here is what participating in a small group will do for you:
- Include you in the life of the church.
- Find lifelong friends.
- Help you grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Discuss spiritual things with friends.
- Hear from and share your insights with others.
- Give you opportunity to develop you spiritual gifts.
- Pray with fellow believers.
- And much, much more

Tips on Being a Good Gig Guest
The Apostle said, “You ought to behave yourself among the household of God” (1 Tim. 3.15). Being a gracious guest in someone’s home is just as important as being a gracious host. Here are some tips on how to “behave yourself” as a Good Gig Guest.
- Do not arrive too early or stay too late. Our home groups (Gigs) usually begin around 7:00pm and are over by 9:00pm.
- Offer to help set up, clean up, bring snacks, etc. But always check with the host in advance.
- If you must leave the meeting early, please tell the leader and host beforehand.
- Stay with the group. Do not wander through the host’s home or yard. Ask host where the restrooms are before the meeting begins. Do not ask the host to “see the rest of your home.”
- Eat dinner before you arrive at the Gig. Snacks are not your evening meal.
- Place cell phones on silence or vibrate during the meeting.
- Treat others respectfully. Do not gossip, dominate conversations, interrupt others, or argue during discussions.
- Keep confidentialities. Do not discuss with others outside the group personal revelations or problems of others disclosed during any meeting.
- Pick up after yourself (personal items, tissue, papers, cups, etc.) when you leave. Your host is not your momma.
- Be committed to the group meetings. Make your church and its mission a priority.
